Rick Banks

Rick is a co-founder of Face37, an award winning graphic design studio, servicing a global roster of clients from its Manchester base.

Their work has won numerous awards, including a yellow pencil from D&AD and a TDC from the Type Directors Club in Tokyo. They have been featured in the Creative Review Annual, as well as receiving recognition from the respected Creative Circle, Communication Arts, TDC (NY) and ISTD. Their work has been published internationally, and exhibited in the London Design Museum and Ginza Graphic Gallery in Tokyo. Their foundry F37 has released fonts including Bella and Ginger, licensed by global brands such as Google, Selfridges and PepsiCo, with the foundry’s website winning awards for digital innovation in the process.

Rick takes an active role in the design community, lecturing on branding and typography around the world, and judging various awards including the ‘Crafts for Design’ category for the D&AD awards. Even more important to him though is the role that design can play in bettering the world around him, having donated both his time and publishing proceeds towards worthwhile causes for the likes of the Football Foundation and Horwich St Mary’s.
